Happy Macaron Day everyone!

Started in 2010 by renown French chef, Francois Payard, Macaron Day is a magical day in New York celebrating the classic  tiny French cookie.

Macarons are two delicate cookies made from almond flour, sugar and egg whites and have ganache sandwiched between them.  They come in a wide range of colors and flavors from rose, persimmon, pistachio, vanilla, and more.

I think they look like little cheeseburgers sometimes.

The best part of New York’s Macaron Day? FREE MACARONS!

That’s right, for today and today only, you can get a free macaron from each participating bakery listed here! I know I’ll be getting my macaron fix today!
